MAREA ALTA es un texto del corazón de Ireri Romero.
Esta obra, seleccionada en la convocatoria de BRUJAS 2022-23 del Foro Shakespeare, cuenta la historia de búsqueda que emprendemos las amigas cuando una de nosotras es arrastrada por las olas.
Este laboratorio breve que dirigí con ojos, oídos y manos abiertas; nos ha atravesado la cuerpa y ha perforado memorias, para recordarnos a ellas, a las razones, a los sueños y al amor que creemos haber perdido.
Es un texto que trajo de vuelta el rostro de una amiga mía que decidió perderse hace casi 10 años. Que se hizo en memoria de aquellas que nos enseñaron a hacer el teatro que anhelamos.
No sabemos si esta obra significará lo mismo para todas, porque el viaje nunca es el mismo, pero les extendemos el corazón desde esa incertidumbre.
Desde la digna rabia ante la muerte.
Desde la ternura radical para la reconciliación y duelo.
Desde el amar al mar a mar y al teatro.
