Durante siglos, los rumores y las habladurías han operado como dispositivos de control contra las mujeres insumisas. Muchas fueron señaladas como brujas, expuestas al escarnio público por desafiar el orden establecido y castigadas por negarse a obedecer. La violencia no siempre llega con fuego, pero sí con señalamientos, aislamiento y otras formas de castigo ejemplar.
En el gremio teatral estas prácticas no han desaparecido, se han transformado. Incluso, han refinado sus mecanismos. Las redes sociales han amplificado nuevas inquisiciones contemporáneas. El linchamiento simbólico, la funa y la cancelación reproducen dinámicas de castigo y exclusión que se ejercen con rapidez y sin mediación. Cambian las formas, pero persisten las lógicas inquisitivas.
El programa de actividades que acompaña la selección de obras para BRUJAS 4, abre un espacio de diálogo crítico sobre la violencia institucional, la cultura de la cancelación y la rivalidad intersexual y la justicia selectiva en el gremio teatral.
